Stress Management

Stress is something almost everyone faces these days. It is important to try and help manage your stress so it doesn't take a toll on your physical well-being.

The first stress management tip is to prevent unneeded stress. It is not possible to avoid all stresses, but you’d be amazed at how many stressors in your life you can reduce. Try to not overcommit, know your limits and tasks you have, so you do not take on more than you can do.

The second stress management tip is to adjust to the stressor. If you are unable to modify the stressor, then try and change yourself. You may adjust to difficult conditions and restore authority by altering your standards and mindset.

The third stress management tip is to acknowledge what you cannot control. Certain causes of stress are inevitable. A great way to deal with stress is to accept the reality as it is.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this post! I am an easily overwhelmed and stressed person, so these tips are helpful for someone like me. Stress is such an all-consuming feeling, especially when you have a lot on your plate. Determining stressors is an easy way to reduce that feeling, and I am glad you brought that subject up. I also love your third tip about acknowledging what you cannot control because I greatly struggle with that!

  2. Great post! One huge way to get rid of stress and stuff weighing you down is working out. I love lifting and especially when I've had a long day. I can just go into my gym and just let that aggression and stress out. The problem with a lot of us today is we let stuff eat at us. Stress takes a tool on your body. Do your best to minimize it like Alyssa said.

  3. Hi Alyssa, your post have very useful information. I agree with you when you said about know your limits. I think people always push themselves too much and then they become too stressed out. Another great tip you mentioned was to recognized the stressor and try to adjust it. A lot of people don't know what their stressor is, so they become even more stressed and overwhelmed.

The Connection Between Mental and Physical Health

Your mental health and your physical health both can affect one another. If your mental health is down it can cause your physical health to be down and vise versa. It is important to care of both aspects of yourself, to help you grow and flourish.  If you are stressed or upset about anything in life, don't be hesitant to reach out. Whether it is talking to someone you trust, or seeking hep from a professional, taking that step can make a huge difference. While it may seem intimidating to ask for help, keeping those thoughts and feelings bottled up can worsen both your mental and physical health. Remember, your mental health matters just as much as your physical health!
